How to cook Lobster

I have never cooked Lobster before and was craving it, so I found a wonderful tutorial on how to cook fresh Lobster. I found my lobster at the store Wholefoods, if you have one near by I strongly recommend them for all your sea food needs. Quality food.

This was alot easier then I thought and its fully cooked under 10 minutes, my son gets a kick out of how they start Grey Brown and turn bright Red at the end. When they turn bright Red you know they are finished. Pair it up with some yummy melted butter and your set.

This was found here

To begin making your lobster tail, start with a large pot of water. Season it with 4-5 bay leaves, 2 tablespoons of dried basil, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Bring to a boil. It will emit a nice herbal smell throughout the house as the aroma comes off the water.

Take your fine mesh screen, place it over the pot, and arrange the lobster tail on top. Cover with a lid and set your timer for 8 minutes. Don’t peek! The lobster will soak up the aroma coming off the water and give it a flavor that will just be incredible to your taste buds.

After 8 minutes, lift your lid. Your lobster will be a nice Salmon color! How cool is that? It went from a dark, dull gray color to a vibrant pink in just EIGHT minutes! This is where you’ll step back and say “Oh, so pretty!!” And they are!

The best way to get to the lobster meat is to crack and peel the echo skeleton off from the underbelly. It can be a little tricky but be persistent! Peel off the covering and the meat will be exposed for your taking! Melt a mixture of butter with garlic powder to your own taste. Dipping the meat in the butter will be the highlight of your life! So buttery, flavorful and succulent!

  1. It certainly looks lovely, and your taste descriptions are evocative. Unfortunately, though: I'm allergic to all shellfish larger than a prawn, thanks to a nasty experience with a plateful of scampi some 50 odd years ago. It's not an experience I want to repeat. Glad you and your son like it though.
